The best banana bread

The Mister and I hung out at one of our favorite bars the other night, when the bartender asked us if we wanted to try a piece of banana bread she had baked. It was delicious — chewy and chocolaty, with great texture and not too sweet. I asked her for the recipe, and it turned out that she found it on 101 Cookbooks, one of the first blogs I ever started following.

I baked my own version of it last night, and while I slightly undercooked it, it was still pretty darn delicious. It packs a good amount of olive oil and whole wheat flour for that more-bread-than-cake texture, which I love. We took a few pieces to the lake with us this morning, to eat with a nice hot cup of coffee while waiting for fish to bite. We weren't so lucky on that front today, but it was a great way to start the day. Happy Friday, everybody!
